AIUC, the company behind the AIUC-1 agent-safety certification, said it had raised $55m in total funding, comprising a $40m Series A led by Ribbit Capital with participation from First Harmonic and Terrain, on top of an earlier $15m seed round. The company was co-founded by Rune Kvist, previously Anthropic’s first product hire, and Rajiv Dattani, a former METR chief operating officer and McKinsey insurance partner.

AIUC-1 audits AI agents against a set of controls covering safety, security, reliability, accountability, data handling and societal impact, in a model the company compares to the SOC 2 standard used in cybersecurity. Certification is backed by underwriting capacity from the Lloyd’s of London market, meaning a certified agent’s customers are covered against failure modes the standard tests for; ElevenLabs’ agentic products were covered by a $50m policy written on this basis. The company said its standard has been adopted by Cursor, ElevenLabs, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, UiPath and Fin.

The raise is a small round by frontier-AI standards, but it marks an early instance of insurance capacity being tied directly to a third-party safety audit for autonomous agents, rather than to a generic technology-liability policy — a structure other insurers and certifiers may test as agentic deployment grows.
