The Center for AI Policy (CAIP) is a Washington-based non-profit that lobbies Congress for binding federal regulation of advanced AI, framing its case around what it calls the catastrophic risks of the technology. Led by executive director Jason Green-Lowe, it has published model legislation — including a proposed Responsible Advanced Artificial Intelligence Act — and says it has advised congressional offices on AI safety bills. It is one of a cluster of advocacy groups pressing for mandatory rules rather than voluntary commitments.
