Ideogram is an AI image-generation company, founded in 2022 by former Google researchers who had worked on the Imagen text-to-image system — among them Mohammad Norouzi, Jonathan Ho and Chitwan Saharia. Launched publicly in 2023, its models became known for rendering legible text within images, long a weak point for image generators, and it later released open model weights. It raised an $80m Series A in early 2024 led by Andreessen Horowitz.
