Luma AI is a US company, founded in 2021, that began by building tools for 3D capture and neural rendering before moving into generative video. Its Dream Machine system, launched in 2024, generates short video clips from text and images, and the company describes itself as working toward broader multimodal models. In November 2025 it reported raising a $900m round led by HUMAIN, an AI firm backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, at a valuation of around $4bn.
