Tesla
AI for self-driving (Full Self-Driving), the Optimus humanoid robot, and — until its 2025 shutdown — the in-house Dojo training supercomputer.
Tesla is the US electric-vehicle maker, founded in 2003 and led by Elon Musk, whose AI work centres on autonomy and robotics. It develops Full Self-Driving (FSD), a driver-assistance system trained on video collected from its fleet, and Optimus, a humanoid robot Musk has claimed could become the company's most valuable product. Tesla built custom Dojo hardware to train these systems but disbanded the Dojo team in August 2025, with Musk calling the design an "evolutionary dead end" and shifting towards Nvidia, AMD and its own chips — though he later floated reviving the effort. Its self-driving claims remain contested by regulators and safety researchers.
