Will Bryk launches Exastential, a magazine about superintelligence
The co-founder of the search startup Exa opened submissions for a magazine of essays, art and film on 'what matters in a superintelligent world,' with contributors paid and work published in print and online.

Will Bryk, a co-founder of the AI search company Exa, launched Exastential, a magazine framed around what he called “the most existential period in human history, brought about by AI.” Its tagline was “what matters in a superintelligent world,” and it opened a call for submissions — essays, non-fiction, poetry, visual art and film — running through the end of September 2026, with contributors paid and work carried in print and online.
In announcing it, Bryk sketched the territory he wanted covered — education upended by personal AI tutors, changing relationships, the prospect of mathematics being automated “within a year” — and asked writers and artists to submit “piercing essays, videos, whatever perspective you think needs sharing.”
The launch is minor as events go, but it is a small marker of a wider turn in 2026: as frontier systems advanced, a cluster of new publications and institutions appeared whose subject was less the technology than how people should live alongside it.
