Salesforce announced seven named “job-ready” Agentforce agents — Casey (customer support), Paige (IT and HR service), Carter (shopping), Hunter (outbound sales), Marshall (supply chain), Piper (inbound lead generation) and Fin (customer service) — each built for a specific business function rather than as a general-purpose assistant. Most were made generally available at launch; Hunter remains in pilot until November 2026. The announcement, timed ahead of Dreamforce 2026, also introduced a “Trusted Enterprise AI Harness,” a six-part governance framework covering context, agency, action, governance, security and models, aimed at companies already running agents from multiple vendors; Salesforce said broad availability of the accompanying AI Control Plane is expected in early 2027.
One of the seven, Fin, is the customer-service agent Salesforce acquired the day before: it completed its purchase of Fin, the company formerly known as Intercom, in a deal reported at roughly $3.6bn, bringing more than 30,000 existing customers and a claimed 76% average resolution rate into the Agentforce portfolio rather than requiring Salesforce to build a competing product from scratch.
The pairing illustrates a pattern among enterprise software vendors in 2026 — buying an established AI-agent product and folding it into a broader named-agent lineup rather than building every capability in-house.
