Salesforce

Enterprise software whose Agentforce platform builds autonomous AI agents for customer service and sales inside its customer-relationship-management products.

1 entry · 11 April 2024

Salesforce is the US enterprise-software company, founded in 1999 and based in San Francisco, that helped popularise cloud-based customer-relationship management. In the AI wave it has bet heavily on "agentic" software, launching Agentforce in 2024 — a platform for building autonomous agents that handle customer-service and sales tasks — which co-founder and chief executive Marc Benioff has promoted under the banner of "digital labour". The pitch has drawn some scepticism over how much of the automation performs as advertised, but it has made Salesforce one of the more visible enterprise vendors in the shift towards AI agents.
