Anthropic launched the Claude Marketplace, a hub bringing together three kinds of third-party offering built on its Claude models: connectors and plugins using the Model Context Protocol or Anthropic’s Agent Skills format, of which the company said more than 2,000 were available at launch; purchasable agents and products from partners including CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey and Lovable; and a services network of consulting partners such as Accenture, BCG and Deloitte.

The notable mechanism is in the middle tier. Enterprise customers with committed annual spend on Anthropic’s API and other services can direct a portion of that spend towards buying third-party software built on Claude, rather than paying separately — and Anthropic said it takes no commission on those transactions. A submission portal for builders on Claude’s paid plans to list their own tools followed on 25 September.

The launch extends Anthropic’s push to be judged on the breadth of an ecosystem around its models, not only the models themselves, following a pattern also visible in rivals’ plugin and app-store efforts around their own chat products.
