xAI launches always-on AI agents that work unsupervised in the cloud
Beta access is bundled into SuperGrok Heavy and Cursor's Ultra and Teams Premium subscriptions — plans VentureBeat reported start near $120 a month — not sold on its own.

xAI launched Grok Bot, a beta product giving each user “always-on” AI agents that run with their own cloud computer rather than executing single requests on demand. According to xAI’s announcement, the agents log into a user’s existing tools and websites without requiring API integrations, carry out multi-step jobs — such as updating a CRM, drafting emails, reproducing a software bug, or handling administrative tasks — end to end without step-by-step supervision, and learn a person’s workflows and preferences by observation over time.
The agents can also work together: xAI said bots can message each other and share context, and can be placed in a group chat where they coordinate on tasks on their own. Access at launch was limited to subscribers of SuperGrok Heavy and, via Cursor’s subscription tiers, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium — a distribution route that reflects the coding startup’s absorption into xAI’s parent following SpaceX’s acquisition of Cursor earlier in 2026. xAI’s own page listed no standalone price; VentureBeat reported the bundled plans start at around $120 a month.
Grok Bot sits alongside a wider push by frontier labs through 2026 toward agents that operate continuously rather than answering discrete prompts, and its release through Cursor’s own subscription tiers — rather than as a separate xAI product — is one of the clearest operational signs yet of how closely the two companies’ offerings have merged since the acquisition.
