NVIDIA reports record fiscal Q2 2027 results

NVIDIA reported revenue of $96.2 billion for its second fiscal quarter of 2027, the three months to late July 2026, up 18% on the prior quarter and 106% year-on-year. Data-centre revenue, the segment covering AI-chip sales, reached $89 billion, up 117% year-on-year, and gross margin held at 75%. The company guided to $108 billion in revenue for the following quarter.

The larger news came from further out. On the earnings call, chief financial officer Colette Kress gave NVIDIA’s first-ever year-ahead revenue guidance: growth of roughly 70% for fiscal 2028, against a consensus estimate among analysts of 44%. Chief executive Jensen Huang said the company had “never forecasted, never guided to a year in advance” before, and that demand was running ahead of even that number but supply was what let NVIDIA commit to it: “we’ve got a huge year coming up next year, and it’s going to be pretty extraordinary.”

The market’s response broke from a recent pattern: NVIDIA’s previous quarter had beaten forecasts on most metrics and still seen its stock fall on valuation concerns, but this time shares rose more than 4% in after-hours trading. S&P Global analyst Melissa Otto said the reaction amounted to “Whoa, 70%.” The unusual step of guiding a full year ahead read as a direct answer to a summer of commentary questioning whether AI-infrastructure spending — including financing arrangements between chipmakers and their largest customers that critics had taken to calling circular — could keep accelerating at its recent pace.

NVIDIA’s previous quarter had itself set the prior revenue record, at $81.6 billion. The same day as this report, NVIDIA and Amazon Web Services announced plans to deploy two million additional GPUs through 2027–28, giving the new growth guidance an immediate, concrete order behind it.
