Humanoid-robotics company Figure signed a strategic partnership with the cloud provider Nscale for access to up to 100,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs, with an initial commitment of $3.5bn that the companies said they intend to scale past $6bn over time. Nscale is not a taxonomy-tracked organisation on this site, but the deal makes it a Figure shareholder: alongside the compute agreement, Nscale is taking a strategic equity stake in Figure and becomes a preferred compute provider.
The GPUs are intended to train Figure’s Helix models, the neural networks underpinning its humanoid robots, with initial deployment targeted for the second half of 2027 at a site in Barstow, Texas. The companies also said they would explore extending Nscale’s supply chain to support Figure’s hardware production.
The deal is one of several 2026 arrangements in which a compute or cloud provider has taken an equity position in the AI company it supplies, tying the two companies’ fortunes together beyond a simple purchasing contract.
