ControlAI
A UK-and-US non-profit campaigning for binding international limits on the development of artificial superintelligence.
ControlAI is a non-profit campaigning against the development of artificial superintelligence, founded in London in October 2023 by Andrea Miotti in the run-up to the Bletchley Park AI Safety Summit. Miotti, formerly head of strategy and governance at the AI-safety company Conjecture, is chief executive; in March 2026 Connor Leahy — founder of EleutherAI and former Conjecture chief executive — was appointed US executive director, and the former UK defence secretary Des Browne advises it. It runs public and parliamentary campaigns for binding limits on frontier AI, including its "A Narrow Path" policy proposal, and was among the groups backing the AI Kill Switch Act. Registered as a non-profit in the UK and a 501(c)(4) in the US, it does not publish its donors, and its funding sources are not publicly known.
